Der Anfang beim Gitarre lernen ist ohne professionelle Hilfe und Anleitung sehr schwer, denn es gibt so viel zu lernen. Da weiß man erst einmal nicht, wo man anfangen soll und es sollen sich ja auch keine Fehler einschleichen. Ich hatte ein paar Vorkenntnisse (vor 20 Jahren mal einige Stunden mit Gitarrenlehrer), musste und wollte aber wieder bei null anfangen. Da mir noch nicht klar war, ob es diesmal etwas wird, wollte ich erst einmal ohne Lehrer anfangen. Manch einer scheut auch die Kosten.
Viele Tipps im Internet brachten mich daher zu dem kostenlosen Online Anfänger-Kurs von Justin Sandercoe. In zehn Stufen zu je neun Lektionen werden einem dort Schritt für Schritt die Grundlagen des Gitarrenspiels beigebracht. Am Anfang gibt es sogar erst einmal Hinweise, was man als Anfänger zum Spielen braucht, welche Gitarre etc. Das alles ist auf Englisch, aber nicht besonders schwer. Die Fachbegriffe sind ohnehin neu und bei der E-Gitarre ist nun einmal vieles auf Englisch, da es aus England oder den USA kommt. Mit soliden Schulkenntnissen sollte man folgen können.
Mit hat das Programm sehr geholfen und wirklich Spaß gemacht. Alles wird klar und deutlich erklärt und gezeigt und es gibt viele praktische Übungen. Und wenn man am Ball bleibt, gibt es auch schnell Fortschritte. So kann man schon bald die ersten einfachen aber bekannten Lieder mit Akkorden begleiten. Mich hat das sehr motiviert.

Ich habe den Grundkurs innerhalb von fünf Monaten absolviert, dabei aber weniger Lieder gelernt, als Justin vorgeschlagen hatte. Danach ging es noch einmal fünf Monate mit einem Gitarrenlehrer weiter um die Basics zu festigen. Da genügte mir ein Termin alle zwei Wochen und wir haben vor allem an der Rythmik und Betonung beim Stumming gearbeitet. Parallel habe ich angefangen den Rythmuspart von Liedern zu lernen, die mir gut gefallen und nicht zu schwer zu spielen sind.
