For a couple of my beginning students who had to learn the piece in a hurry in order to perform with a group of older kids who have played Road to Lisdoonvarna for a few years, it was difficult to get their speed up.
This is a skill violinists grow into, but for some kids it's a stretch! Some of the fiddlers in different YouTube performances do a lot of slurring, but mix it up as well.
