I had an O22 for a few years and found it to be very bright on the treble side and I mean very bright to the point I thought wow this is different! I am mainly a strummer and needed more bass. I think it would have been great for flat and finger picking.
I have an F 25 that is just magnificent. It is loud, some use the nickname Louden.... Lots of projection, in a smaller room, Just filled with powerful yet sweet music.
Here is my freshly acquired 1997 O-32C left handed which should arrive tomorrow. I purchased a new F-32C some months back but I sold it quite quickly, mainly because I wanted more bass response. I also have always loved and bond more with well used instruments, I find their voice more inspiring for me. But being a lefty, you must have patience for the right instrument to be up for sale.
Could You Recommend Wide And Thin Neck Acoustic Guitars For Me?
I own the PBSM 6-string and it is hands down the nicest guitar I have owned (miles ahead of Taylor, Martin, Breedlove, and Guild based on my experience).
I am thinking of commissioning a 12-string version of the PBSM, in case there are any Lowden owners here who have commissioned custom builds from them. Would love to learn about your experience with that.
I do have one question - I bought the Lowden used and the saddle the treble strings rest on is strangely angled, making the 2nd string (B string, in standard tuning) sit lower than the 1st string/raising the 1st string up. This can't be intentional, can it? I would prefer that the two strings are more at a similar height.

You need to post photos online and then embed them here. I use Imgur. Regarding the saddle, are you sure it is not flipped? It can happen that the little saddle was inserted in the wrong way, maybe after falling out during a string change...
Thanks. Yeah re: flipped, maybe so, and the other side is flatter, but when I place it in the bridge nice and snug, that angle is still there.

I flipped it and get the same result. When I reverse it then the 1st string is too close to the frets and buzzes.
Sounds wrong to me. The strings should follow the usual radius. Sounds as though someone tried to lower the action and made a dog’s cojones of it. Here’s the bridge on my F-23, exactly as it came from the Lowden workshop, never needed to change a thing...
Thanks for those pics. Yeah, mine looks nothing like that in terms of evenness, so the prior owner must have ****ed it up. (Unhelpfully, he didn't follow up on sending out a replacement saddle when I asked him about it.)

Even when I flip the saddle over, I still get a steep angle, either raising the 1st string or the 2nd string depending on which way I point the saddle when I put it in.
Note: one side of the saddle IS flat but because the other is steep, when it's slotted into the bridge it always ends up at that steep angle no matter what side I've put it in on.
I’m in the U.K., so GBP is ok for me, but I think they have a ‘US’ version that will give you prices in USD. Apols if I’m wrong about that.

After many years lusting after Lowdens, I sadly just missed a crazy chance to enter the Lowden owners club. I was just a hair to slow to snag a 90’s O32c with minor player’s grade finish blems for $1000 on my local Craigslist.
In response to the questions about string preferences - I use Elixir PB 13s for my Lowden (which is always in DADGAD). full disclosure: I've only tried 3-4 other types
I commissionned a S50 with the Inlay package 2 and the fingerstyle neck option directly from Lowden but that was in 2011 while the dealer in Paris was temporarily closed.

That would be a bargain but I tend to think such guitar must have had some serious problem, hence the low price. Anybody who knows how to use google knows the real value.. maybe you have not missed anything special..
