Some clients included members of Metallica, the Fugees, Lauren Hill band, Poison, Def Jam Records, and Arista Records.M.M. in Music production and jazz performance from the University of Central Oklahoma, guitarist Dyron Batey has been steadily building his name as a compelling performer and inspiring teacher. After graduating in 1999 with a BA in Music Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma, Dyron has spent the majority of his career teaching out of the Edmond Music studio. Playing and teaching music is a passion of his and he feels fortunate that he has had the opportunity to help people of all ages learn more about music everyday.

Most recently Dyron returned to UCO and completed a masters degree in music production and jazz performance. Completing a masters degree helped Dyron learn more about sound engineering, composing and arranging, as well as deepened his knowledge of tonal harmony and musicianship. Dyron is excited to use these new skills for future endeavors. He is looking forward to playing and teaching music for years to come. 

Guitar Lessons By Sean Mcmurray

Brent started playing drum set at the age of 10 after watching his uncle play. Soon after, he enrolled into middle school band and began competing and drumming in concert, orchestra, jazz big bands and rock/country bands throughout high school.

Brent continued his studies at UCO and participated in the Jazz, Marching and Concert bands. He studied under drum set masters Jim Chapin, Russ Mckinnon and Butch Miles. As a side man, Brent has toured the US, Japan and Europe. Outside of his position at ACM@UCO, Brent stays busy freelancing in and around Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Dallas while keeping up with his busy private teaching studio in Edmond, Okla.

Guitar

Jason started playing guitar in 1985 at age 11.  By 16, he was playing alongside local professionals and winning high school jazz band awards.  He studied classical, jazz and composition at UCO and toured the world for years on cruise ships as guitarist and occasional music director.  Jason's been teaching private lessons at Edmond Music Studios since 2009.

Sean began his guitar playing cutting his musical teeth on rock, pop and metal guitar.  However, he has performed with the Lyric Theater Orchestra, Oklahoma City Philharmonic, and many smaller groups.  He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2001 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Guitar Performance. He is a 4th generation student of the great Francisco Tárrega.

Ruth Martin is a professional pianist, cellist, and music teacher from Wichita Falls, Texas. She attended Abilene Christian University and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music. She has experience in classical, pop, modern, celtic, worship music and more. Currently she is the orchestra director at Taft Middle School in Oklahoma City as well as a private music instructor.

Ruth plays and teaches a variety of musical styles including classical, pop, celtic, and other modern styles. She teaches students from ages seven and up, and she would love to work with you! Karsten Tate is a professional vocalist, actor, and teacher located in Oklahoma. She obtained her Bachelors in Fine Arts at Oklahoma City University and has been performing and teaching ever since.

Karsten was recently featured in Lyric Theatre’s world premiere production of Distant Thunder at the First Americans Museum. She has experience in Music Theatre, Pop/Rock, Country, Worship and more. She believes singing is for everyone and would love to work with you, whether that be improving vocal technique, refining audition material, or feeling more confident in general with singing!

Travis Myers is a violinist and fiddler from Edmond Oklahoma. He has played violin for over 16 years and performs regularly with the Oklahoma Chamber symphony. Every summer Travis travels to Branson Missouri for 2 weeks to performs with the Taneycomo Festival Orchestra.
