Bullet For My Valentine Your Betrayal Cover Guitar

Your Betrayal is the opening song of 2010's Fever. It was also the lead single for that album, set to release on March 8, 2010 on the radio. Unexpectedly, it was released early, on March 2, as an iTunes download alongside Begging For Mercy.

In the album's track by track commentary, Matt Tuck revealed that the song was the last to be written for the album. He and Michael Thomas recorded it on the last day the studio was available to them, writing the entire song within an hour. According to Jason James, the intro riff had existed for a while and the song was written around it.

Your Betrayal is often regarded as Bullet For My Valentine's most successful song after the release of Scream Aim Fire in 2008. The song has over 160 million streams on Spotify and has remained in Bullet's setlist since its release. The track was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single.

Your Betrayal is one of the few songs that features lead guitarist Michael Paget on backing vocals during live performances. Paget screams the lines I'm in your heart and your betrayal. These screams used to be done by bassist Jason James before he left the band. Because bassist Jamie Mathias backs Matt Tuck's clean vocals in the chorus, he is unable to perform the screams. For this reason, Paget performs the screams instead.
