Below are three years progression of my silly habit of buying and selling acoustic guitars. I have to admit the comings and goings can be addictive and I am pushing my luck on shipping. One of these days I will slow down, but it has been fun renting some fine instruments.

Nice display Tom, I see that your hanging unit allows for movement of the individual hangers. Can you tell me/us about it?
That is a beautiful lineup, Tom. I completely forgot you have the Atkins 000 37! The new Edmonds is beautiful, love that dark ‘burst. Thanks for sharing.
They are locking hangers by Hercules - GSP39WB. The hangers are screwed into the backing board which is mounted into the wall studs. Any alterations on the spacing require removing the three mounting screws, re-measure, re-position and then re-screw.
Seagull S6 Info And Thoughts
There are other hangers that have more of a hook style on the mounting plate that is used with a specifically designed board. Those can be slid back and forth. String Swing makes some.
The E20SSv is a very nice guitar. I am playing it with D'Addario NB strings and I usually don't like nickel strings. It has a great bottom end and very good volume. I think I called about 15 stores to find one with a wider nut and a little fuller neck. The one I have is just shy of 1.75. I think a lot of the tone difference from a standard one has to do with the thin varnish finish. I am a little over my maximum or it would be on the hooks.
I remember those days fondly. Besides the occasional and thankfully temporary bout of fear due to a shipping delay or package gone missing, everything eventually arrived intact and as advertised. Like you, I considered it 'renting' or 'leasing'. After the initial investment of three guitars (my sweet spot - only three hangers on the living room wall!) I then began to rotate the guitars out, one at a time, as the fancy of something new and different struck me. And since I always try to buy used and for a good price, that 'leasing' becomes more like 'on loan for extended evaluation'! I always break even in the end. I've definitely slowed down a bit but I doubt it will ever completely come to a halt until the day comes I can no longer play.
General Acoustic Guitar Discussion Thread
How are you liking your 00037? I have been enjoying play my 37 and e000 side by side and hearing the rosewood/hog difference. Unfortunately for me it’s making it justifiable to keep both!!

That's a great idea. A nice way to see how your collection has been evolved. You should be commended for keeping it to a single wall.“You have to have one of these little Overheads in your hands, listening with your own ears to appreciate how good this guitar sounds. The online audio demos can give you some idea, especially if you use decent computer speakers, but there’s obviously nothing like hearing it in person.
Being a finger-stylist, I started with some Travis picking. Most travel guitars have very little bass response, so I was amazed at the sound my thumb was getting from the lowest three strings, which were nicely balanced with the top three. I grabbed my 000 guitar, which cost twice as music as the Overhead, and repeated the same pattern a few times then went back and did the same on the Overhead. Was it as loud? No, but based on its smaller size, it seemed to have no business being as close as it was. Was it as warm and/or as bright? No, but it wasn’t as thin sounding or “tinny” as one might expect. To my ears, it was as loud and tonally balanced as many other small, non-travel sized guitars I’ve played. Was it the quality of the wood, or the bracing, or that Manzer wedge that was producing this bigger, balanced sound? According to Journey Instruments, yes, and you’ll get no objections from me…

…Build quality was excellent, not a flaw outside – the rosewood back is beautiful – and no glue drippings on the inside. Not a mark or fingerprint on the guitar out of the box. The action was just right for my taste. No set-up needed at this time. The tuners work well and the neck width and thickness are also just right for me. Strapping it on and playing did not make me feel like I was playing a “small” guitar. The travel case is as well-designed as the online videos demonstrate. Everything you need for playing can fit nicely into the bag. If you’re worried about the unexpected and unwanted gate-check (as I always still am), there’s room in the case to stuff some additional foam padding around both the body and neck.
Journey Instruments has done its homework well, designing an instrument that meets the overhead dimension requirements, but does not compromise the sound with the size. The good things being said about the sound are not hype. They’re true. This is the best travel guitar I’ve ever played or owned.”

Playability, tone, neck profiles -- largely perfect. So why do I continue to be afflicted with GAS ? My oldest is headed off to college this month. I've written the first check. Yet here I am, browsing the AGF classifieds and my favorite retail shops regularly, trawling for the next gem. In the last 3 weeks, I've thought about a Hooper, D-28A 1937, Collings D1ATS, and more Merrills. Absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. And the kicker is that if I buy one more, one HAS to go. And I don't really want to do that.
Squier Sa 100 Acoustic Guitar Review
To combat the temptations, I've been playing a LOT the past several days, to the point where my fingers are a touch sore. And I've been rotating in every guitar I own to rekindle the love of why I bought them in the first place. It's helping. And I'm (re)discovering that they are all world class instruments. Not half, not most. ALL.
I'm a big proponent of appreciating what you have. Even though I don't think anyone is completely immune to GAS, I keep it under control using the joy I get from making music with my guitars. I have a few nice ones - not as nice as yours, perhaps, but nice enough. That's almost irrelevant, anyway. It's the music that makes me happy.
I am very appreciative of my small herd. I add to it very gingerly. I go out and play different guitars a lot. I'm confident that if and when I'm blessed to acquire another one it'll be a good choice. In the meanwhile I'm having a lot of fun trying them out.

Sweet, sweet collection, my friend. I try to stick to two…which means I have to sell one to get a new one. That caps the GAS a bit. Having some great guitars helps, too. But I’ve given up saying I’m done. The wandering eye knows no rest. But it would take a heck of a guitar to bump either of my current ones out of the house.

I have twins that start college this month. Well, one actually got 2 years of free college credit while in high school. He was accepted into a program coming out of 8th grade that allowed him to graduate high school with 2 years of free college credits while working toward a bachelor of computer science... software development. His degree will cost maybe $20k total. The girl is off to Loyola, and even with a great scholarship her degree will be more like $140k over the next 4 years.

That's what is keeping me from continuing the GAS cycle. I have enough, and I like what I have. That said, I still check FB marketplace every day or two for acoustic guitars... just in case...

I was asking myself the same question this morning while looking around in the classifieds. I wish I had an answer. I very much appreciate the guitars I have, but that doesn't seem to quell the search.
Looks like the two on the end had babies and spawned the other three, lol. Very nice
