This is a 1953 Gibson Southern Jumbo with the original finish. This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.
This is a mahogany guitar with a spruce top. The neck is also mahogany and this has a rosewood fretboard. The guitar is all solid wood. The fretboard has a trapezoid inlay pattern. There is w/b/w/b/w binding on the front and back of the guitar (white with 2 black pinstripes). The neck has white binding on each side. The headstock has the Gibson logo. The finish is original which is a big deal because that preserves the tone. The tuners are original but the tuner buttons are new. This is a powerhouse of an acoustic guitar that any guitar player would be thrilled to own. This includes a newer hardshell case.

The guitar does have some wear but it’s overall in good shape. There is a lot of checking in the finish on the body. There is also some pickwear around the soundhole. The neck is straight but it also has wear. There is wear on the back of the neck and the fretboard has some grooves that were caused by fretting. The frets have some fretwear on the first few frets but not much. All of this wear has given the guitar some fantastic vibe and improved tone. The case is clean. The guitar has been set up and sounds and plays great. This would be a fantastic guitar that any player would love.
