Whether you don’t own a single guitar or are looking for some musicians to inspire your own playing, below are ten guitarists who you should absolutely subscribe to on YouTube (in no particular order).
Ichika Nito is an incredible guitarist known for his virtuosic combination of fingerstyle and tapping. He has gained a lot of momentum on the platform over the last year in particular, thanks to his catchy mini-songs that often blend math rock and neo soul influences (such as the popular “i miss you”). A few of them are written in some really eccentric and fun tunings, such as CABBAGE, EDAMAME, and EEEEEE.

Another musician leaning towards the technical side, Sarah Longfield is a guitarist / vocalist best known for her two-handed tapping playstyle. She’s been on the platform for over a decade, and has also recently started uploading lessons, product demos, and more to her channel in addition to her mind-blowing original music.
Best Youtube Channels To Learn Guitar (must See Lessons)
If you watch any amount of guitar content on YouTube, you’ve probably already come across Sungha Jung. His channel – which has thirteen years worth of videos and counting – boasts over six million subscribers and a staggering one billion views. He’s best known for his acoustic fingerstyle renditions of popular songs; whether it’s Ed Sheeran or a Naruto opening, Sungha Jung will likely have an awesome cover of your favorite track.
Few people may be aware of the fact that Tosin Abasi, the founder and lead guitarist of the instrumental progressive metal band Animals As Leaders, has started regularly uploading videos to YouTube. While it goes without saying that he’s one of the most skilled guitarists out there, what stands out in particular is his ‘thumping, ’ a technique he innovated that combines slapping with classical finger picking.
Like Tosin Abasi, Tim Henson is a lead guitarist from an instrumental rock unit (Polyphia) who also maintains a strong presence on YouTube. His work, which blends influences including progressive rock, trap, and pop, is immediately recognizable, and has inspired a wave of other bands that attempt to emulate Polyphia’s sound. On his YouTube channel, he largely posts short song ideas, which at times later find their way onto Polyphia albums. He has recently started also doing walkthroughs of these riffs, which is both incredibly helpful and utterly useless because they’re anything but easy.
Striking A Chord
While she might not play a million notes a second, Helen Ibe is an amazing guitarist who needs to be heard by anyone and everyone. She has a great tone and feel, and is one of those musicians who knows how to tell a story through their phrasing. Her passion for music radiates from her performances, and she’s overall a refreshing and infectious presence in the YouTube guitarist community.
Mateus Asato is one of those guitarists who can seemingly do everything – his work spans everything from soulful slow jams to blazing-fast solos. That said, no matter what he’s playing, he never forgets to insert his emotion and distinctive character to his work, and is a great musician to study for that reason.
Yvette Young’s playing is a perfect blend between technique and emotion. Her heavy use of tapping and meter changes are sure to mesmerize those who enjoy complexity, while her colorful chord voicings and melodies are likely to resonate with almost any listener. She’s also the front-woman for the math rock band Covet, which is definitely worth checking out as well.
Andy Guitar Beginner Strumming Course: From Complete Novice To Improver Level
Rob Scallon is a unique entry on this list because the breadth of what he creates for his channel is quite expansive –in addition to standard guitar performances, he also uploads creative challenges, vlogs, educational pieces, instrument deep dives, comedic music content, and more. If you’re looking for a talented guitarist who you can also really get to know as a person, Rob Scallon is a great person to follow.

Last but not least is Li-sa-X, a metal guitarist who’s known for her impeccable covers and equally powerful originals. While she’s currently most known for performing at an incredibly high level for such a young age, she’s truly a professional musician who should be taken seriously regardless of how old she is. Although her upload frequency can vary, Li-sa-X is a guitarist who you should definitely keep tabs on, since it’s only a matter of time before she really blows up.

A Look At Taylor Swift's Most Viewed Youtube Music Videos
There are only a few weeks left in 2019, which means that not only is the year coming to a close, but so is the decade. Many companies and publications have started sharing not only year-end rankings, but also those that detail the best and most popular of everything in entertainment in the past 10 years.
YouTube has just released its list of the most successful music videos of the 2010 - 2019 decade, and while it’s primarily populated by the biggest pop stars in the U.S. and U.K., there are a few acts that break through that show how tastes began to change in the past several years.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” is in a very distant first place, as it racked up over six and a half billion plays in only a few years. The visual stands as the most-viewed clip on YouTube, and it’s over two billion clicks ahead of the second-highest-ranking title, Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You.” That song may soon become just the second release in history to make it to five billion views on the site.
Never Catch Me
Sheeran is the only musician to own two of the top 10 spots, as his other internationally adored smash “Thinking Out Loud” closes out the list at No. 10.Combined, the 10 most popular videos on the platform were watched over 37 billion times.
Pop favorites like Sheeran, Maroon 5 and Justin Bieber are all included, but so are Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and K-pop superstar Psy, all of whom make the list with tracks performed in a language other than English. The success of their biggest wins was surprising at the time, and it highlights the fact that tastes are changing, and that the demographic of who uses YouTube to access the music they love may also be different from what it was just a few years ago.In the past week two of Zimbabwe's biggest artists at the current moment Winky D & Jah Prayzah all released videos. Both videos went on to break the record for the most views by a local song in the first 24hrs since its upload on YouTube. The fans of the artists were taking jabs at each other on social media trying to prove their fav is the best and most popular, the artists however do not appear to be competing but are supporting each other and basking in the successes of both tracks. How good and entertaining the videos are is another issue which can be dealt with when the hype normalizes, at the moment its the race to a million views.
This got me all thinking as which video by a local artist has the most views on YouTube. I got down to doing my research and below are the top 25 most viewed videos by a Zimbabwean artist's on YouTube.

Best Youtube Channels For Free Guitar Lessons
Disclaimer: this list doesn't necessarily prove who is the best but rather who is the most popular. An artist can be popular for other reasons other than his/her art and that popularity can translate into millions of views. Also its only a lesser portion of Zimbabweans that are online, so the views are a reflection of the preferences for the few who have the ability and means to go online. Because of that an artist may have over 2mil views but fail to attract 1000 people to their show but someone who is low or not even on this list can attract 10k plus fans to their show.
With that out of the way lets see who are the most popular Zimbabwean music videos on YouTube as of the time of publishing this article.
So ya those are the top 25 most viewed Zim music videos on YouTube as of the moment of publication. It's very clear that Jah Prayzah dominates this list, appearing 13 out of 25 times, meaning he is the most popular and go to artist if you want your video to get massive views. Ammara Brown is the most popular female artist and also is the second most popular with 4 appearances.
