Bought 2 vouchers for my husband and brother Christmas present. I messed up trying to register the vouchers and Calypso very kindly got it all sorted for me very efficiently and professionally. I truly felt I was being looked after on a one to one basis - thank you. I can’t wait to see my husband’s and brother’s reaction to this special gift.
I did this class about 5 years ago as a nervous bedroom guitarist (40th birthday present from my wife). Now playing in a band, regular at my local blues jam and enjoying it so much. Your workshop was one of the best things I ever did!
John's an amazing guitarist and an excellent, and patient, teacher. I came away from the session with a host of new things to try. John provided a lot of useful printouts (tab etc.) to support what he was teaching and I use them daily as exercises. He also encouraged me to video any parts of the lesson that I wanted - this has been really valuable to me. I can't praise John enough and I'd recommend one of his sessions to anyone - so I give him a big 10/10.

East Village Guitar Lessons, London
Just wanted to say thank you for yesterdays session. I learnt so much not just from being shown how to play but, from your discussion and encouragement (especially for me regarding barre chords).
I just wanted to say many thanks for Saturdays blues class. The whole sessions was really informative and absolutely flew by! Can’t believe just how much useful information that you managed to put into the session.
I just wanted to thank you for your guitar lesson on Saturday, I think my huge smile throughout said it all. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. It wasn’t only the practical stuff that blew my mind but the theory behind what I was doing, with that understanding it has made sense of so many things and tied things in with each other. It has also allowed me to explore the guitar alone as I now know what I am looking for. What I learnt in 4 hours with you has improved my playing by a ridiculous margin. I have been and will be practicing like crazy as per usual. On another note, your 2 CD’s are amazing John, they need to be out there in music stores. Also i never knew who the vibrators were, I have been listening daily, what a band My kind of music. Thank you again John.....Amazing experience.
How To Learn Guitar: The Ultimate Teach Yourself Guitar Book: 1 (making Guitar Simple
I was excited to find this experience. I am buying it for my dad. I do not live in London but my parents do, so it can be difficult to find them transportable gifts for Christmas -- plus they already have everything they need, which is why experiences are great! My dad taught himself guitar when he was a teenager. He has loved playing ever since, and I think he will have a blast learning how to play blues guitar.
Really excellent course - lot's of great practical guidance and tips supplemented with some great anecdotes. I particularly liked the opportunity to video John at
