After working at Fender and Music Manduring his college years, where he learned from Leo Fender, Doc Kauffman and Randall, Fred Taccone began repairing and tweaking his friends' and many professional musicians' amps. Once his reputation began to grow, Rusty Anderson (who recorded and toured with high profile artists like Paul McCartney and Neal Diamond) encouraged him to take the plunge and start building his own amps. By the end of the 2000s, Divided by 13 amps began appearing on recordings and tours of major artists, and the popularity of these new amps with a mysterious name and incredible tone quickly spread.

Traded Divided By 13 Cj 11 1x12 Combo, Wgs £1150

Divided by 13's EDT 13/29 is an exceptional blues and pop beast. It's a single-channel amp that can go from Fender Tweed tones to Marshall JTM gain levels by performing a simple trick that we guitarists love to perform: turning up the volume. Ultra-simple settings: Treble, Bass, Volume, Reverb, and a Boost for solos. A switch allows you to change the class (A or A/B, which give 13 and 29 W output respectively) in order to concentrate the power of the two KT66 tubes.

Strat, Tele, Les Paul... It pays homage to the work of luthiers all around by magnifying the tone of these instruments with impressive clarity. From the design (modern, with first choice components) to the construction (old school, in P2P), it is THE professional amp. Sensitive to all nuances in the attack, the dynamics are perfect: not too much presence, the bass is never muffled, the trebles remain tamed, but the harmonics burst out! At Divided by 13 Amplification, we build high quality guitar amplifiers, by hand, one at a time, and with an attention to tone, utility and craftsmanship not found anywhere else.

By taking the front end (preamp) “Flexibility” of the CJ 11 with it’s more traditional tone arrangement of volume (with pull gain/mid boost), treble, bass, and master volume and combining it with the JRT 9/15’s “Switchable”, by toggle “Dual” back end (power amp) of either (2) 6V6GT’s at 9 watts or (2) EL84’s at 15 watts you get the biggest sound in a low wattage amplifier heard to date, and NOW with the increased “Flexibility” some customers need. Simply stunning tonal variety for all low wattage applications!

Divided By 13 Ftr 37

Keeping in the well established tradition of the RSA 23, the BTR 23 (Developed for Brian Ray of Paul McCartney’s band) retains the truly unique and stand-alone sonic signature of the well established RSA 23, combining the best attributes of several of our favorite British amplifier formats, from the speed, sensitivity, and dynamics of our favorite EL84 amp from England, to the mid-range punch and aggressive drive of some of our favorite 50 to 100 Watt 4-input amplifiers from England, topped off with the very unique roaring, powerful, creamy and articulate overdrive offered in our favorite 200 Watt KT88 amplifier from England, we took it further (per Brian’s request) in development by adding a push/pull on the volume to offer additional gain where needed, and a transparent and highly effective master volume to make it more agreeable with on stage application, while still maintaining the single note chord definition at all ranges from 1 to 10 which remains simply spectacular!

With an overly stout and painstakingly developed power supply made to accommodate two sets of power tubes, the JRT 9/15 offers the biggest sound in a low wattage amplifier heard to date.

Starting from right to left, the single input of the amplifier (high and low sensitivity) feeds the inputs of two 5879 Pentodes, each with its own volume control and blendable. Each is voiced differently: one is brighter with more clean headroom while the other is gainier and thicker in the low mids. Added to this volume is a 6 position switch which offers a “bright cap” selection. The last knob is a high cut for the overall amplifier. The “Mode” toggle provides a selection of either 9+ Watts with 6V6s, or 15+ Watts with EL84s, offering and exceeding the best tones available in some of our favorite late 50’s American 6V6 amplifiers, and our favorite EL84/EL34 English amplifiers. Don’t be fooled by its size; this one sounds huge!

When asked, by Corky James, amongest others, “Can you take my favorite 1959 tweed amp from Fullerton and instead of the controls being Volume Volume Tone make it Volume Treble Bass, give it more clean headroom, a wider range of usable overdrive (throw in a little EL 34), make it a little louder with fuller, tighter low end, and put a master volume in it so i can play at all levels and dial in and hit the sweet spot of whatever speaker i am using at the time, mostly a G12M Celestion?”

Powered by 2 6V6GTs it’s hard to believe the performance of this stout, 11 watt, 1×12 combo that is just the latest in an ongoing tradition here at Divided by 13 of collaborating with and responding to what players, writters, and produceres ask us to do. Divided by 13 is happy to announce the CJ 11 along with 3 other new 1×12 combos designed to be the “necessary ingredient” to help you achieve your goals in your music making endevors.

Capturing and exceeding some of the best tones offered by our favorite amp from Fullerton and our favorite amp from England, the FTR 37 from 1 to 10 can produce the most pure and bodied clean tones, to varying degrees of medium and over-the-top types of complex and full-bodied overdrive.

Divided By 13 Sjt 10/20 Combo

Coupled with the exterior switching/boost device, the Switchazel, the flexibility available in both channels, either separate or blended, offer an infinite array of guitar tones rarely thought possible for the music maker of today.

The new AMW 39 is an amplifier we were asked to developed that would be made small enough to fit on top of our 2x12D and deliver the same sound and performance as the LDW 17/39. it is the same amplifier as the LDW, “shortened” and with the “half power” functioned removed.Divided By 13 amps are on their way to the UK! He biggest sound in the low wattage category, Divided By 13s JRT 9/15 punches well above its weight and delivers massive tones.

Divided By 13 Btr23c Brian Ray Signature

The biggest sound in the low wattage category, Divided By 13s JRT 9/15 punches well above its weight and delivers massive tones. The secret behind this compact unit is its two sets of power tubes, each with their own voicing. This unique design features two separate inputs (high and low sensitivity) that both feed the inputs of two 5879 pentodes. Each pentode is independently voiced with one brighter and with more clean headroom and the other providing more gain and is thicker in the low mids. Both circuits feature their own volume controls which can be blended. These two circuits coupled with a 6-position bright cap switch and a high cut filter for the overall amplified sound makes the JRT 9/15 one of the most versatile amps on the market. If that all was not enough, the JRT 9/15 features two power modes that can operate at either 9+ Watts obtained with 6V6 power tubes or 15+ Watts with EL84 power tubes. In essence, the JRT 9/15 is a game-changer for any travelling musician who cannot compromise on quality and needs to produce a range of tones from late 50s American clean to British EL84 grit.
