Mine is my Martin D-28 Standard (reimagined). I have owned many brands and models of guitars over the years ranging from 500 dollars to over 3k, but the D-28 standard is my favorite, and the one I own now is the best sounding one I have owned to date.
There is just something special about the tone of a good D-28 standard that inspires me to want to play until my fingers fall off. I have owned the D-28 Modern Deluxe and the HD-28, but still like the D-28 Standard the best.

I had a Huss and Dalton T-OM custom that I thought sounded amazing. But everyone seems to say my 2013 Banner reissue J45 is the best they’ve heard.

Every guitar I own is the best sounding for what it is, .. my 00-15 is the best sounding mahogany guitar I own, .. the 00-28 is the best rosewood guitar, .. the Waterloo WL-12 is the best maple, ..
Depends on the day and what I'm doing. I could make a case that my Bourgeois, D-18 or Northwood are the best sounding guitars that I own.
Bourgeois DR-A / Bowerman Working Man's OM / Martin Custom D-18 (adi & flame) / Martin OM-21 / Northwood M70 MJ / 1970s Sigma DR-7 / Eastman E6D / Flatiron Signature A5 / Silverangel Econo A
Takamine Glenn Frey Signature Ef360gf Acoustic Guitar Review
I had a D18 Modern Deluxe that sounded fantastic. I part-traded it though so I don't know does that mean I didn't love it that much? My thinking was that I could get another one of those at any time but the trade was a one-off and I had to move quickly (and honour my one in one out principle).
My McNally OM 6 string is the best sounding OM i've ever played or heard, and I was actively seeking an top quality OM with a good cutaway, primarily geared for fingerpicking/style, so that was why I did that trade in.
It's all highly subjective though. I mean, I wanted a 12 string, and the McNally 12er was the best sounding 12 string I could find. I wanted a short-scale 000 and the 000-28 I own was the best one of those available to me.
Are Collings Guitars Worth The Money They Are Getting?
All in all I've been lucky enough to be in a position to be fairly discerning and it's worked out with three great guitars, all of which are the best in their category that I could find for myself. Granted, I was setting some budgetary limits there but I don't know if adding more to the budget would have worked out much better for me.
Up to this point in my life, my awesome Guild D40 Traditional is the best sounding guitar to my ears I've ever owned.
Of what I own right now, probably in this order. However, on any given day one guitar may rank higher than shown here.
Ngd And Review: Taylor Ad12e
In the absence of the J-40, and having recently parted with my Martin J-35, the Collings is making the best sounds in my house…
My Bourgeois Aged Tone Vintage D Banjo Killer. Loud when needed, quiet when not. Extremely articulate voicing and balance across the tone spectrum. Top-notch build quality and super easy to play, as well.
I had a beautiful custom Guatemalan rosewood Martin Dread that I should have kept that had a different and more lush sound. And one of the D-28 Authentics had a tone that brought a tear to my eye. I had to sell it when money was tight. I never loved the neck anyway. I had a Larrivee D09 I loved. I had one exceptional Taylor 816ce that I sold during my swapping phase. Also a big mistake. I’d like to have the custom Martin and Taylor back to go with the Marquis.
Yamaha Fgx3 Storia I Acoustic Guitar: Review, Photos
I’m afraid to play the $8, 000 to 10, 000+ priced guitars because I don’t think that’s an appropriate amount of money for me to spend on myself when I have a family.

Sound is so objective it is impossible to compare. I buy guitars that stir some emotion in me when I play them. It’s like when I hear a great singer and I get chills up and down my spine. I just “know” what I like.Thomann is a large online retailer in europe manufactures them in China, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The electrics are considered as good as Squires I dont know about the acoustics. Definitely low cost products.
I was thinking about it as a good beater guitar. I also read they have a sub $200 solid wood top guitar.

Timestamp at 12:17 and you can hear his opinion on the tone of the HB in this vid (prob a solid top/lam B&S dreadnought) but i think it came out looking good in this comparison. Everything Paul Davids touches sounds great so i'm sure the quality can't compete with others but seems like it is getting same cred as Orangewood which is not bad in my book. i would expect the all-solid wood guitars to sound even better.
They are both great instruments regardless of their cost. Cosmetic details will of course fall short compared to expensive siblings but the sound is all there.
You can check the tone of my HB Resophonic here, where I gave it a little run soon after I bought it.
Got A Ukulele
I've played one of their GS mini copies before, as well as another small body acoustic. I would say the quality is generally what you would expect of the price level in terms of fit and finish. They were a bit concerning structurally though, The bridges both had heavy deformation around them. All in all I wouldn't say the acoustic performance is too impressive, solid wood or no.
However, the structural issues of the acoustics are not relevant to electrics and I'm sure they can make a perfectly serviceable solid body.

Incidently, that's also why I'm not a fan of heavily scalloped bracing. A brace is only as strong as the weakest link. This usually put right under the point of highest stress, the bridge. I think a better overall result could be achieved by redistributing the stiffness a little more creatively than just thinning the braces under the bridge.

The LP copy I have looks beautiful indeed but, if you look closely, you might notice small imperfections in the varnish where the fretboard meets the body, or the frets finish being less than perfect (I know, this is not cosmetics) or tiny flaws here and there in the finish which, of course, can be expected on an instrument costing less than 300.
I own a Harley Benton GS-Travel (Hog) acoustic guitar. Its basically a ripoff from the Taylor's GS Mini. Bought it as a tester before buying a GS Mini (i live in a place where there are no guitars to test in person)
Sound that you can get from it is a LOT better then the one that you get from all-laminate instruments (say hello to low-priced guitars in this price range). Im able to compare it with my all-laminate Stagg Dread (also bought it for about 100 euro, but about 15 years ago).
Best Acoustic Electric Guitars 2024: Electro Acoustics For All Levels
You get a gig bag for that price, that's a plus. Gig bag quality is meh, thats a minus. Only usable to carry the instrument if there is no rainmoisture or snow outside.
It had 2 cosmetic defects upon arrival - one part of the neck (closer to headstock) was not finished as good as the rest of the guitar
Overall id say that low-end Harley Bentons are ok for the price. This thing offers a lot more sound-wise and a LOT more in terms of playability then cheapo no name guitar brands.

Best Budget Electric Nylon String Jazz Guitar
I have a few of their electrics and for cheap guitars, they are awesome. I'd imagine their acoustics are good for the price too.
I just added Davids' video to my watch later (thanks for the link). I only found him a couple of weeks ago and I've probably watched close to a dozen of his videos in that time.
Paul (OP): it sounds like you're no longer interested due to the nut width but to your original question I am familiar with Harley Benton but from an electric guitar perspective. I've never played one but I've watched and read lots of reviews and it's almost always bang for your buck guitars in the sub $300 range. For me it's my 2016 Taylor 818e - I spent $2500 on it, bought it used. Best guitar I've ever come across for the money. I'm super happy with it. The only guitars that tempt me a little these days are guitars that cost 10 times as much or more and it's just doesn't make sense to pay that kind of money for a guitar. I love my Taylor.
Making A Cheap Acoustic Guitar Sound Expensive
I've got two best buy guitars. The first was an Alvarez Yairi DY77 that I bought in 1980. I had $1000 in my pocket and was ready to buy a D28 until the shop keeper came out with this Yairi... $175 w/OHSC... but then...
I was looking for a beater a couple years ago just after I found my '72 D35. Lo and behold,
